Today is Mother's Day and with that comes family get-togethers, long-distance phone calls, cards and memories of those early days as Moms. My boys are grown, but I felt like I gave birth one more time today. A girl? A boy? No, it's a blog! My close knitting friends know that I've been working on this for some time. I've already missed a self-imposed deadline, and for that I owe my good friend Kelle some sock yarn.
Putting this together has been a lot of fun - guess that's why so many people have a blog to share their knitting obsession no holds barred. In the process of putting together my "On Needles" section I actually found a tote bag that is 3/4's done that I totally forgot about! (We'll discuss yarn and project storage tips on another day).
It's going to be a tote bag/purse for the summer. Probably for me but it might be a gift if the right occasion arises. The pattern is my own, and I'm using Schaefer Yarns "Sandra" in the Victoria Woodhull colorway throughout. The other solid colors are Tahki Fiji, which I just learned is discontinued and Louisa Harding "Glisten" for a little glitz near the top.
Many thanks to my good friend and knitting buddy Trish for the TypePad tips and eternal optimism. I look up to her as a great knitter and cherish her as a friend. Check out her blog - she's amazing!
Well, I'm glad to be part of the online knitter's world. Next post coming soon, till then happy knitting!
